Officer Rachel Morgan, a Paramus New Jersey police officer, spoke of her ordeal coming very close to a line-of-duty death in February. Officer Morgan was shot four times in her mid-section. She said the tight bond between her and her fellow officers helped her overcome the very serious injuries. "With a little perseverance, I awoke from a coma and the first thing I saw was a Paramus Police Department patch on the shoulder of an officer".
