The 22nd Annual Memorial Day Weekend Car Show

Hundreds of classic and antique cars and their owners attended the annual car show including the vintage, classic and special interest vehicles of the Eastern Vintage Police Car Association. Memorial Day symbolizes the unofficial start of summer, but most importantly it is a day to give thanks to our nation's veterans who fought to protect our freedoms and a day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Since its beginning in 1994, the show has raised more than a half-million dollars, which has been distributed to a variety of local charities. George Civetelli, the club's president, stated the event attracts an average of 650 to 700 cars every year that are worth millions of dollar”. Civitelli stated further that "The show attracts 3,000 to 4,000 spectators. It has become a Hamden tradition that people look forward to each and every spring".
