Police Benevolent Association's 4Th Annual Classic Car Show!

The North Haven Police Department Police Benevolent Association (PBA) held its 4th Annual Classic Car Show Fundraiser on Sunday, September 4, 2011 The show, which benefits the PBA, was held at North Haven High School located at 221 Elm Street, North Haven, Connecticut.

Many vintage, classic car and truck enthusiasts attended the show from all across the State and New England. The activities for kids were plentiful, including face painting, games and North Haven Police Department's Drug Awareness Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) booth. The show featured plenty of food, drinks and ice cream from various vendors including the PBA's own booth that served hot dogs and hamburgers throughout the event. A DJ provided all the music including some oldies from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The PBA sponsored a well-received 50/50 raffle and plenty of door prizes for all. Numerous awards and trophies were given out to the winners of the many categories of vintage and classic vehicles. Around noon lights and sirens filled the air as a large vintage police car procession took part in a mock car chase after a “Smokey and the Bandit” look-a-like 1977 Pontiac Firebird. The “low speed” procession left the high school grounds and entered the nearby Rt. 40 connector that extends into the Town of Hamden, then returned back to the school grounds where they were received with cheering and applause. Another great show by the North Haven PBA. Our thanks to Officer Ted Stockmon for providing the following photos.
